AMERICAN PSYCHO

AMERICAN PSYCHO

I'm only 15 years behind the times, but I finally got around to watching, "American Psycho."

Interesting film, that plays heavily within your mind the realms of fact and fiction. I think it is blatantly obvious through a serials of clues, and even what I'll call flat out in your face signs that what we saw unfold on the screen, are his greatest fantasies and fears. Yet, from discussion and reviews, some gather that what took place was real.

I found the character of Patrick Bateman to be utterly unlikable, the kind of guy I would not want to be friends with. Hell, I wouldn't even want to be minor acquaintances with the guy, yet on the same hand I also found him quite charming and exceptionally intriguing. From an observational standpoint, I think he would be a very interesting guy to study.

The film had a magnificent score, the music most certainly deserves mention and praise. I am a bit pissed off at myself because I know that his obsession and fascination with music, most likely makes a revelation. I don't know what that revelation is but I'm almost positive that it is there.

The scenes were too extravagant and far too imaginative, for me to think for one second that any of this was real. I think what actually makes Patrick Bateman a psycho, is that by the end of the film he had convinced himself that it was all real.

7.0/10
