UNFRIENDED

3.5/10 - I have to give the film credit for originality. I'm sure if I searched I could find other films like it, but it is the first time I've ever seen a movie filmed in such a way. I also thought that it was very clever with some choices, and can definitely pick out the moments of good writing and good directing. The acting was also decent. Best of all, I thought the pacing of suspense wa
s well done as well.

My main biff with the movie is that the scares were cheap and much more startling than scary. I'm sick of horror movies startling me and making me jump because I'm startled. I don't want to be startled anymore. I want to be scared. I want something to actually frighten me. This movie didn't. Secondly of all I would have enjoyed the film so much more if Laura's character had been a likable character that suffered from cyber bullying. A character that never would have been as insensitive and malicious herself that took revenge on a bunch of not so great people. Instead, I felt that she was no better than them. From what the film gave me she could have just as easily been one of bullies as she was the victim, and then had one of them after her. To me the film was about the ghost of an unlikable, not so great person tormenting and killing other unlikable, not so great people. When I watch a horror film I like to root for someone. Either root for the protagonist to fend off the evil and survive or root for the killer to kill everyone. The movie didn't allow me to do either, because I didn't want anyone to survive and I didn't want the killer to win either. That really frustrated me
