BURYING THE EX: B
We have a lot films this day in age that are either really good or really bad. Don't see much in between. This was. Nothing spectacular, it'll be forgotten about in 10 years, but it was a fun, simple film. Looking for something entertaining that you don't have to invest yourself into too much, I highly recommend it.
The acting was good. Anton Yelchin, who reminds me a lot of Jeremy Davies, was particularly good. Ashley Greene did a remarkable job of showing how even hot girls can be unattractive. The subtle metaphorical writing for her character was cleverly depicted. Alexandra Daddario reminds me of my own girlfriend in her awkward and strangely attracting behavior. Reminds me of the types of personalities I always go for, so it was easy to like the character. Oliver Cooper played the part of the character you always see in these types of films, yet was still able to make it unique.
I'm so used to films trying to shock you with a twist ending or a anticlimactic ending, that the film's straight forward ending actually caught me off guard. I was so expecting a "It was all a dream" or something totally out of left field. Didn't happen, and I appreciate that.
The film makes its own rules, but it abides by them. You are confined to the world of the movie, but since it plays fair, its easy to follow.
