JURASSIC WORLD: B
No minus, no plus, just a plain ole B.
I enjoyed it. It was a very conventional, run of the mill, predictable, seen so many like them before, will see many like them after, every day modern film...but I did like it.
It was certainly way better than part 2 and part 3, but I wouldn't call it any better than the original. Even though it is marketed and labeled as the fourth installment of the franchise, it plays out much more like an updated version of the original than it does a part four.
I appreciated the visuals. There lot of interesting and clever ideas. I particularly liked the detail they put into showcasing the different dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals.
A lot of effort and thought was put into the ending which I appreciated the most. The ending was epic and a tribute to the original. Best part of the movie.
Only complaint was the lack of character development. The only character in the film that was even remotely worth investing into was Owen. The rest of them were very one dimensional and under developed. The Raptors had more personality than some of the people.
