THE BOY IN THE STRIPED PAJAMAS |
"The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas" I give a 9.0/10. My only criticism for the film is that it is a bit convenient at times and some of its historical inaccuracies. However, I don't hold much stock in the historical inaccuracies because this film wasn't meant to be an historical documentary or even really a time piece. It was used to illustrate the unfortunate fact that we as human beings have been and in many ways continue to be extraordinarily ugly to one another. It pains me enough to have to admit to myself that this work of fiction is based on realities that happened but it pains me even more to know that in many ways they're still happening and they'll continue to happen long after I'm gone.
Technologically we've came a long way, and we continue down the road of success. Sociologically we are where we were. We have always been where we were.
Praise to the film for its wretched and unforgettable ending, the humanization of Nazi characters, and child actors that can actually act. I was very impressed by their talents.
