It was fun seeing Val Kilmer on screen again and I enjoy him as an actor but I really don't know what else to say about this film. For one I could never figure out what the hell it was about or what the point of the film was. Was it about a writer getting over writer's block and diving into a new realm? Was it about witches? Vampires? Sacrifices? Edgar Allen Poe? Regret? I mean this film was ALL OVER THE PLACE without any clear direction whatsoever. I don't even know how to rate it because I have no idea what in the hell it was trying to be. It's as if the writer and the director couldn't make up their mind what they wanted to do. No clear choices in this film at all.
I suppose a 1.5/10 and that is generous simply because I enjoy Kilmer as an actor and although nothing he did or said made sense, it is the reflection of a poorly written script, not him.
